RAKSA 'Swan Song' Rally

RAKSA had a fun filled weekend, on 24th February 2012.  The Nippers kicked off the day with sailing for the young sailors within.  The Oppies and Toppers were out in force.  It was the first session for the Nippers with a return for some of our budding nipper sailors and also a big welcome to the new faces within the Nippers on the water. The Spring winds gave our novices the chance to really get a feel for sailing and all the Nippers certainly had great fun.

The next session for the Nippers will be Friday 9th March. Contact Tracey Arseneault on tracey@arseneaults.com for details if you would like your child to participate.

The Nippers were followed by Commodores Cup Racing for the Adult Sailors.  Good winds combined with the course set by Racing Office of the Day, Barbara, made for some exciting racing – for both racers and spectators! At present the points for the Commodores Cup are as follows:

Interesting ex aequo scores for 1 and 3!

Later that afternoon, DOSC arrived at RAKSA after setting off from Dubai on the Thursday Night at 18:00 hrs, with 12 Yachts racing between DOSC and RAKSA and taking between 18 – 25 hours.

The RAKSA and DOSC Members enjoyed a RAKSA Curry Night with music from H’amour.  The evening finished off with DOSC thanking RASKA for a brilliant night with good old RAKSA hospitality.  DOSC presented Ivo Dielen (RAKSA Commodore) with a DOSC Pennant.

DOSC have invited RAKSA to take part in their Spring Open Race Day on Friday 23rd March, more details to follow.
